When a US plane is taken down over seas by an unknown assailant, the army is sure it was North Korea and a new war is about to break out. Even worse, the true attacker is an alien armed force and only one old battleship can stop them.
This movie was made in 2012, but I&#39;ve seen better CGI/special effects in 1970&#39;s movies.<br/><br/>There was better acting in my son&#39;s 3rd grade Christmas program.<br/><br/>About the only thing that could&#39;ve made this movie worse was to put Ben Affleck in it.
Following the major hype, the promise of huge action sequences and carefully crafted CGI set pieces, I made the mistake of assuming this was the next Independence Day. I was wrong.<br/><br/>This is far worse.<br/><br/>The acting is tragically poor. I would ask how the actors managed to get themselves mixed up in such a debacle, but all becomes clear as the movie unfolds as one after another delivers mind numbingly wooden cliché after cliché. <br/><br/>The plot is absent.<br/><br/>The director appears to have vanished with it.<br/><br/>I saw better special effects in low budget straight-to-video horror movies from the 80s.<br/><br/>In fact, it has no redeeming qualities and should be avoided at all costs. Note: I created an IMDb account purely to be able to rate and review this movie in order to save yourselves from a lost 90 minutes and the feeling of having been violated!
